WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE IN PORTUGAL?

There is no time frame of when you should arrive or how long you should stay for, as long as you are there for the Saturday of the wedding. It would be great if you are able to join us for Day 2 celebrations as well.

WHERE SHOULD I STAY?

We will be based on Vale do Lobo resort, and the wedding day will take place on Quinta do Lago resort. For suggestions on areas you might stay in see the Area page.

HOW SHOULD I GET AROUND?

We recommend either renting a car or using UBER/Bolt or taxis. See the Area page for more info.

WHAT IS DAY 2?

It is common for Irish wedding celebrations to continue on to the next day, and as our guests will be away from home we think it is even more important for us to do so. Day 2 will be a much more casual affair at one of our favourite beach bars. See the Details page for full info.

I'M STAYING AFTER THE WEDDING, WILL THERE BE ANYTHING HAPPENING?

We will be staying on Vale do Lobo until Sunday 29 June. For anyone using this as an excuse for a well-earned holiday, we hope we can see as many of you as possible in the days after the initial celebrations. Just let us know when you are around and we will see what else we can organise. Otherwise see the Area page for ideas of activities you might enjoy.

DO I NEED TO RSVP?

Please complete the RSVP form on the RSVP page here. Please follow all the steps and ensure you RSVP once per guest as food options are required.

DO I NEED TO BRING A GIFT?

At the risk of sounding cliche, your presence at our wedding is present enough. If you would wish to gift us something, we'd very much appreciate any monetary contributions to be used towards our honeymoon!

WHERE DID YOU GET THE DRAWING FOR THE SAVE THE DATE?

The amazing artwork on our Save the Date cards was done by none other than Alan himself!

The Wedding Day

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

We are calling the dress code 'beach formal'. The most important thing to us is that our guests are comfortable. June in the Algarve can be hot, so we are not expecting suits and ties. For men, chinos or suit trousers and a shirt or similar and any form of cocktail dress or outfit for females. Don't forget sunglasses and suncream! The ceremony will be on the beach so please bare in mind for shoes ladies.

WILL THE CEREMONY BE OUTSIDE?

The ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and after party until 11pm will take place outside. In deference to the heat that time of year the ceremony is being held slightly later in the day, but please do make sure you bring sun protection.

WHAT TIME DOES THE WEDDING END?

The venue will close at 2am. Whilst UBER and Bolts are widely available, it might be worth considering pre-booking taxis for this time.

I HAVE A DIETARY RESTRICTION, WHAT FOOD WILL BE SERVED?

Please use the RSVP form to indicate any dietary restrictions.

ARE CHILDREN INVITED?

Unfortunately, due to capacity restrictions at the venue, we will be unable to include any children beyond those in our immediate families. We understand this may be very restrictive to some people as it is a destination wedding, and we are very sorry for that. If you are bringing your children with you and able to make arrangements for them for the wedding day, please let us know and we would love to try and welcome them to day 2.

CAN I TAKE PHOTOS?

You are welcome to take photos throughout the day, but we do request that you refrain from taking any during the ceremony as this may interfere with our photographers.

WILL I NEED TO BRING CASH FOR DRINKS?

On the wedding day we will be providing drinks for our guests.
